For this Stuttgart shopping arcade’s spectacular glass dome, Colt designed, manufactured, installed, and maintains one of the world’s largest integrated roof and façade glass louvre systems.

• Dual-purpose, with smoke and heat extraction

The Königsbau arcade houses 63,000 m² of shops, restaurants and offices over ten floors. Colt’s glass louvres give visitors the feel of being in a gigantic conservatory. Louvres in the upper section of the roof are moveable, providing fresh air ventilation. Innovative surface-coating reduces the sun’s thermal load by more than two-thirds, with almost no reduction in transparency.
