The Sainsbury’s store in Maidenhead was re-developed to combine its original retail use with public space and domestic apartments. Colt provided ‘winter garden pods’ to the apartments - Shadoglass louvred balconies with secondary, openable facades, which give the sense of being outdoors in summer, while protecting from the elements in winter.

Colt Shadoglass is a fixed or controllable external glazed solar shading system. In this application, each laminated blade is 600mm wide, improving noise attenuation and weather performance.
