For the new Rolex office building in Geneva, Colt produced prototypes of sun-tracking solar shading systems to prove their engineering proficiency, clearly demonstrating the ability to meet exacting requirements.
Architect: R. Brodbeck & J. Roulet
Solutions provided by Colt:
• Attractive aesthetics
• Minimised solar heat gain
• Additional occupant privacy
• Ease of maintenance and cleaning
More than 1,000 modules are fitted into bays 2.6 metres wide and 5 metres high. Each module has nine moveable, centrally pivoted louvres that track the position of the sun. For easy maintenance or cleaning, the entire louvre system can be moved to a vertical position, out of the way.
To provide additional occupant privacy, there are different colour screens between the windows and the fins, which have a brushed anodised finish.
